Our mission and vision

Fighting hunger. Strengthening communities. Restoring hope.

Mission

To fight hunger and food insecurity by providing food, meals, and compassionate short-term assistance to individuals and families in need, while serving every person with dignity, respect, and care.

Vision

To build communities where no one has to face hunger or hardship alone, and where individuals and families have access to the nourishment, support, and resources they need to move toward stability, hope, and a better tomorrow.

Meet the Founders

Two hearts for service. One shared vision.

Before Just Hungry Project had a name, we were simply two people doing what came naturally: giving and serving.

While working in separate Texas cities, we each began putting together brown bags and sack lunches, adding prayer cards or words of encouragement, and driving through our communities to meet people who needed a meal and a little care.

When we came together and talked about what we had been doing, we realized we were doing the same thing. What had started separately came from a shared desire to serve.

Guided by our faith and the belief in “write the vision, make it plain,” we sat down to put that purpose into words. Those conversations became the foundation of Just Hungry Project.

Along the way, we understood that the need was about more than food. It was also about encouragement, connection, and knowing someone cared enough to stop.

Today, that same heart guides our work. As Just Hungry Project grows, we want to keep showing up, listening, and responding to the needs of individuals and families with dignity, respect, and compassion.

More Than Food. Love and Service in Action.
